The Freshtables venture at the Green Giant facility in Edina, MN required conversion of a 12,000-square-foot warehouse into a pilot processing facility and offices. The facility produces enough fresh vegetable entrees for a test market under conditions that duplicate a full-scale plant. The project included sanitary refrigerated process and packaging areas, a test kitchen, bacteriological lab, storage coolers, freezers, shipping and receiving, headquarters and employee facilities.
This addition to the existing dietary food warehouse consisted of a three-story building for food processing and packaging (10,000 sq. ft. per floor), a warehouse for palletizing (18,000 sq. ft.), depalletizing and storage of finished dietary food products and packaging materials. The addition also included an office space, locker room and lunch room.
The project entailed remodeling several portions of the facility and adding a lounge and offices. Remodeling services were performed in the blast freezing, frozen storage warehouse and shipping areas.
Tombstone Pizza’s aggressive growth history and ever increasing sales required this 58,000-square-foot-expansion to more than triple the space for production and storage of pizzas. Office and employee areas were also expanded.
