Modular Feed Facility

The project involved building a new feed manufacturing facility for a large agri-industrial consortium based in Novosibirsk, Siberia.

The facility was constructed at the Siberian site by assembling six pre-fabricated modules engineered and produced by Ibberson. This special type of mill has construction advantages, particularly when building in more remote areas of the world. Once these modules, the size of shipping containers, were fabricated at Ibberson’s Minnesota shop, they were shipped to Zima and assembled to form the factory using minimal manpower and shorter overall time frames than traditional construction techniques.

The mill produces mash at rates up to 10 metric tons per hour. A similar Ibberson modular feed mill, built in Siberia around the same time, produces both pelleted and mash feed at 5 to 10 metric tons per hour.

One of the first Ibberson modular mills build in Russia, Agrosib, invested in the modular system with expectations of reducing the cost and construction schedule normally required to build and start up a feed operation. Furthermore, Agrosib felt that the technology transfer programs provided with the mill would improve the yield of protein sources and reduce grain losses.

The mill start-up phase began only months after the modules arrived on site. Since then, its performance has been hailed by the owner as surpassing production expectations.
